Lambing Live News at Nannerth Country Holidays
Thanks to all our helpful visitors in the last few weeks who have fed the sucky lamb, named Fred.... the Shadow. The name is due to a visitor who named him Fred and then one of our granddaughters who was quite reproachful because she had already named him Shadow. I feel the name sums up his personality and approach to life! Just a few more ewes to lamb, which is fortunate as the weather is cooler and wetter now than back in March.
The dogstay cabin is almost finished and it is very grand. Pic of work in progress on Nannerth Country Holidays Facebook page. We may have our first booking soon. We are still waiting for the wildlife camera system to be installed, but the resource room is just about ready and looking quite smart. You will be able to view some of the special wildlife sites on the farm from the comfort of the resource room. Although most of our visitors will want to get close up to the actual sites on the farm, we hope this new facility will be particularly useful for those with mobility problems, the very young and elderly people. Hawksdrift Falconry will continue to use this room as a base. Apparently in English the term 'Mews' was the name of buildings used to house hunting falcons. Does anyone know if there is an equivalent in Welsh?
